Do not walk on the ice of Lake Akan.

Lake Akan has begun to freeze over, but the ice remains extremely fragile! Furthermore, though not easily visible to the naked eye, areas where hot springs bubble up from the lake bottom exhibit unusually thin ice. Even when people work on the ice surface, they do so only after ensuring safety precautions are in place.
