4Bokke Footpath

Bokke Footpath

This walking path takes you through the forest located next to the Akanko Onsen spa resort town. At the end of the path you will find a mud volcano called Bokke by the Ainu people (Bofuke means simmer in the Ainu language) that spews out volcanic gases and high temperature steam from beneath the mud.(Takes 30 minutes)

Akan Kohan Eco Museum Center

This facility introduces the highlights of Akan-Mashu National Park, providing commentary through exhibits, slides and videos about the nature found mainly on the western side of Lake Akan. Displays also feature the names of wildlife in the Ainu language and panels describing Ainu culture.(Takes 1 hour)
