While the Akankho Marimukan building will be closed from Dec 29th to Jan 3rd, the 1F Tourist Information Center will be open as follows: Dec 29 & 30: Open (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Dec 31 & Jan 1: CLOSED From Jan 2: Open (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) Please feel free to stop by for sightseeing inquiries, local brochures, and travel tips. We look forward to seeing you!

The magnificent winter season at Lake Akan is officially beginning! We look forward to welcoming you all, but we have a very important request for your safety. The lake has only just started to freeze, and the ice is still extremely thin. STAY OFF THE ICE. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STEP ON THE FROZEN SURFACE. It is extremely dangerous and you could fall through. Please stay safe and enjoy the breathtaking winter scenery from a safe distance!
