An eruption occurred at the Ponmachineshiri crater of Mount Meakan at approximately 1:17 PM on October 25th.

No large volcanic rocks have been reported from this eruption; however,

Volcanic activity at Mount Meakan is increasing, and there is a possibility of future eruptions of a similar scale.

The Volcanic Alert Level 2 remains in effect.

There is a high risk of large volcanic rocks being scattered within a radius of approximately 500 meters from the Ponmachineshiri crater, so please do not enter this danger zone.

On the downwind side, volcanic ash and small volcanic rocks may be carried by the wind and fall far away, so please exercise extreme caution.
