Tancho Kushiro Airport
Kushiro Airport is the main gateway to Kushiro, offering flights to and from Sapporo Okadama, New Chitose, Haneda, Itami, and Chubu airports. The airport has restaurants and cafes, with some serving local cuisine from Hokkaido and Kushiro. There are also a number of gift shops to pick up a last minute gift before heading home.
JR Kushiro station
Kushiro Station is a major terminal for Eastern Hokkaido. The station retains the original charm of one of the old remaining railway stations built with government and public support that still stand today. Therefore, the station provides a perfect backdrop to begin your travels locally. Right next to the station is the local bus terminal, providing easy access to places around the downtown core and further away destinations. It takes about 30 minutes by car to drive from the station to Kushiro Airport.
