Washo Market, the kitchen of Kushiro, is located within walking distance of Kushiro Station and offers the chance to see where the city’s seafood comes from. Here, you will encounter various types of fish. The market’s katte-don, where you top a bowl of rice with your favorite seafood, is popular among visitors. (Takes 40 minutes)

Located along the Kushiro River, Kushiro Fisherman’s Wharf MOO stands at the heart of Kushiro’s waterfront. This facility houses a fish market, shops carrying souvenirs and local products as well as restaurants and eateries. The building was designed by Kushiro-born architect Kiko Mozuna. The exterior was constructed with a steel framework resembling a tancho crane spreading its wings, while the interior is a helix structure incorporating elements of feng shui. (Takes 30 minutes)

This is known as one of Kushiro’s most popular tourist spots and one of Hokkaido’s three most famous bridges. There are four bronze statues on the bridge depicting the four seasons. It is a popular spot for taking commemorative photographs and also for capturing the setting sun, in recent years. (Takes 15 minutes)

This is Kushiro’s main street that runs in a straight line to Kushiro Station, as if directly connected to Nusamai Bridge. Along the way to the station you will find a number of Japanese confectionery shops, paper stores selling Kushiro goods, and cafes. (Takes 15 minutes)
