Onbetsu Hands-on Learning Center “Kokoromi”

This is an educational facility with lodging, and is also open to private and group day use! The varied activity menu has over 20 exciting options. One memorable activity is making traditional washi paper from the fibers of butterbur, a plant this region is famous for. Try cooking pizza, baking bread, observing astronomical bodies, or accompany an instructor on a mountain stream fishing tour. Each class offers a new way to appreciate the unique beauty of this area. Some of the craft classes can be booked on the same day, but most activities require reservations by a week in advance.
