Spa-Katsu
”Spa-Katsu”, which originated at " Izumiya", features savory spaghetti meat sauce topped with thick and juicy cuts of pork cutlet, served all on a piping hot iron plate. It’s known for its large helping that is about to fall off the plate. Izumiya is a good-old western-style restaurant that first opened in 1960 when the owner came up with an idea of putting deep-fried pork cutlet, which was a luxury item at the time, on a hot iron plate so that the customers could enjoy their food hot until the last bite, even in such a cold place as Kushiro. Its name "Spa-katsu" is shortened from Spaghetti with Tonkatsu and it is now an iconic food of Kushiro and is enjoyed by people of all ages, from children to seniors.
