Mt Oakan-dake is a 1,370-meter mountain located southeast of Lake Akan. Its dignified conical shape led the Ainu to call it the "Male Mountain". Mountain paths have been established starting at "Takiguchi", taking hikers past "Lake Taro" and "Lake Jiro" to the summit, which provides a breathtaking overlook of "Penketoh" and "Panketoh" and the vast expanses of Akan-Mashu National Park. About 6 hours return trip.
