Kottaro Marsh Viewpoints

This observatory is located along the gravel road prefectural route 1060, which traverses the Kushiro Shitsugen Wetlands. Along the adventurous drive here, you will approach the winding Kushiro River, a likely area to meet ezo sika deer or wild birds. Climbing the stairs to the upper deck provides the perfect view to admire the untouched wetlands and springs. Using the telescopes installed on the deck, you may even spot tancho cranes.
