Lake Taro and Lake Jiro
About a 15 minute trek from the entrance of the Mt. Oakan mountain path, a small lake known as ""Lake Taro"" can be spotted amidst the virgin forests. A further 5 minutes walk will bring you to "Lake Jiro". The trails are open year-round, with flowers such as rhododendron dauricum and rhododendron metternichii coming into bloom around June. The conifer forests are particularly beautiful in winter. When traveling without a mountain guide, please bring a bear bell.
