Yonemachi Park
Yonemachi is said to be the starting point of Kushiro City's settlement. Yonemachi Park provides beautiful views, and climbing the lighthouse-styled Yonemachi Observatory allows visitors to gaze as far as the distant Mt Mashu-dake and Hidaka Mountains on a clear day. The park contains Hokkaido's first monument engraved with poetry of Takuboku Ishikawa. Nearby the park is "Yonemachi Furusato Kan", Kushiro's oldest wooden house, which displays photos of the town's olden days and materials about Takuboku.
