Nusamai Bridge
The European style bridge that crosses the lower reaches of the Kushiro River is one of Hokkaido's three most famous bridges, which include Sapporo's Toyohira Bridge and Asahikawa's Asahi Bridge. The guardrail features four statues of women by four sculptors that depict the four seasons. At dusk, the Port of Kushiro dazzles as it takes on the hues of the setting sun, while at night the river's surface is lit up by the lights on the bridge and by the lights of the city. The bridge and streetlights also exude a magical aura in the summer fog. This symbol of Kushiro city with its many faces can be walked across or simply gazed at from afar.
