  • Lake Akan Information Center to Install Simultaneous Interpretation Equipment

    A simultaneous interpretation machine has been installed at the Lake Akan Tourist Information Center! The machine is available in 13 languages, including English, Chinese, and French, and also allows visitors with limited language skills to enter questions on a tablet device.

    As we enter April, the ice on Lake Akan is getting very thin. There are places where hot springs and volcanic gases are spewing from the bottom of the lake, so it is very dangerous. Please do not go on the ice on Lake Akan under any circumstances. In addition, smelt fishing will end at the end of March. Fishing will be prohibited from April, so please cooperate with this as well.
