Fujisawa Folk Art

This shop has 50 years of experience making accessories carved not just on the front, but on the sides and back as well. They meticulously select materials paying particular attention to how the grains pop out when they are wax-finished. The materials they use is locally-sourced very scarce wood called "erimaki" which is similar to boxwood tree. The wood is white in color and very hard. A wooden 100 % natural hot spring bowl for hand bath is just next to the front door.
