Yumegaoka Observatory

A 2.3km long wooden promenade runs from the Takkobu Auto Camp Site, providing a perfect walking trail for viewing bubbling springs, tussock and in the spring time skunk cabbage. Ascend the hill on the second half of the trail to the observatory for breathtaking views of the meandering Kushiro River and depending on the time of day perhaps a train running along the Senmo Main Line. Be sure to go between May and October as there is no snow removal or maintenance performed in the winter.
