Any visit to Lake Akan is not complete without taking a trip around the lake aboard sightseeing boat. These boats provide visitors with a unique perspective of the lake during each of the four seasons.
During the cruise you will be taken to Churui Island where you can view marimo that are close to 30cm across. (Umbrellas are available if it rains on Churui Island)(Takes 1 hours 25 minutes)(parking available at Koun no Mori Pier).

2Akan Kohan Eco Museum Center

This facility introduces the highlights of Akan-Mashu National Park, providing commentary through exhibits, slides and videos about the nature found mainly on the western side of Lake Akan. Displays also feature the names of wildlife in the Ainu language and panels describing Ainu culture.(Takes 1 hour)
