The "Iomante Fire Festival" is a sacred dance to pass on knowledge of Akan's natural surroundings and culture. This traditional village is protected by the kamuy (deities). The dance features a solemn prayer, then song and dance like raging flames as the procession moves to the tale of the kotan kor kamuy (Blakiston's fish owl). The impressive performance will envelop you in the spiritual world of Ainu tradition.
